Biography
Catriona Shaw is a
Scottish visual and performance artist based in Berlin.
As a live performer
(Miss le Bomb) she humorously deconstructs typical music structures in
her lyrics, songs and stage shows, drawing the audience both mentally
and physically closer into an absurd arena of 'wannabe-ism', investigating
public expectation, pop myth and industrial production of the star as
a consumer item. Her drawings reflect her critical and wry views on a
broad range of subjects: satirical but sensitive commentary on popular
culture, anthropomorphism, death and social politics all feature in her
work, often presented in the form of 'audience-embracing' installations.
Her collaborative projects often investigate traditional and emotional
in three-dimensional spaces and in environments usually defined by new
technologies.
